Willie Artis, 56, of 324 Brentwood Road, Dudley, finished her final work here on earth and went home to be with her Savior Thursday in the Kindred Hospital, Greensboro.
She was born Thursday, Nov. 3, 1960, in Wayne County, to Dorothy Artis and the late Willie Artis Jr.
Her life and service to God and mankind will be celebrated Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Little Rock Church of Christ, Pikeville, with Elder Nico Hood officiating. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest in the Wayne Memorial Park.
In mourning, she leaves her mother, Dorothy M. Artis of the home; two sisters, Shirley Watson, Fayetteville, N.C., and Clemetine Stancil (Andrew), Stockbridge, Ga.; one brother, Dwight Lassiter of Dudley, N.C.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at the Haskins Funeral Home. At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence where it will assemble in preparation for the funeral cortege.
