Betty Carolyn Hardy Deaver, 72, Dudley resident, died Monday night, Oct. 23, at Wayne UNC Health Care.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 27, at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with burial following at Holy Innocents Episcopal Church Cemetery at Moss Hill. Visitation will be at the funeral home during the hour before the service, and at other times, the family will be at the residence. Flowers are welcome, or memorial gifts may be made to the charity of one's choice.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Goldsboro Ward, had been a cafeteria manager with Cumberland County School System, and she enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include her husband, Rodney "Jack" Deaver; two sons, David Earl Deaver and Timothy Jack Deaver, both of Dudley; two sisters, Gwendolyn Rochele Holland of Goldsboro, and Dixie Carter and husband, Billy, of Mount Olive; a brother, William "Billy" Hardy and wife, Patty, of Florida; and two grandchildren, Tracy A. Deaver and Christina D. Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William Randolph Hardy and Florence Elizabeth Mozingo Hardy; and a sister, Marian Regina Stelly.
