William "Plato" Smith, 86, resident of Wake Assisted Living of Raleigh, formerly of Goldsboro, died Oct. 19 in Wake Medical Center.
Funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Canaan Church. Burial will be in Old Mill Cemetery.
He was born June 25, 1931, in Craven County to Claude and Luvinia Garrison Smith.
He is survived by seven children.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Haskins Funeral Home. The family will assemble at 1804 Dogwood St. for the funeral procession.
