COE SMITH

March 5, 1984-Sept. 29, 2017

Matthew Coe Smith, 33, LaGrange, passed away suddenly on Friday.

Coe was a hard-working man, which was the theme of his life, he lived to work. He was employed with Seegar's Fence Company, Gold's Gym, and the Village Steakhouse. Coe was also talented in martial arts and was recognized with several black belts. He was known as one of the youngest sensei in martial arts. Those of us who knew Coe weep at our loss, laugh with our remembrances, and reflect deeply on how much he meant to us. He made the world a healthier and happier place.

A service to celebrate Coe's life will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Sue and Johnny Best. Interment will be on Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. on the Best Family Farm.

Coe is survived by his wife, Jamie Leigh Smith; mother, Sue H. Best and husband, Johnny; father, Linwood Worth Smith; brother, Jared Austin Smith, Heather Nye; sister, Jaime Best Jones and husband, Randy; nephew, Ben Jones; niece, Autumn Smith; and his grandmother, Lillie Best.
