Wilbert Leon Stafford Jr., 79, died Saturday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory. Interment will military honors will be at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
He was born in Wayne County Sept. 20, 1938, to the late Wilbert Leon Sr. and Mildred Lawhorn Stafford. He was married to the late Jean Stafford.
He is survived by seven children.
Visitation will be an hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
