Caryl Anne Shingleton, 81, Goldsboro, passed away Friday, Sept. 1, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

She was born in Snohomish County, Wash., Feb. 24, 1936, to the late Clyde and Jackie Erickson Clark.

Caryl had been a valued employee of Standard Products.

She enjoyed gardening, cooking and her animals. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her precious grandchildren. She will be missed.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, at 1 p.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.

Caryl is survived by her daughters, Tammy Radford and Shelley Sharpe and husband, Charlie, of Goldsboro; son, Ronald Lane and wife, Phyllis, of Kinston; seven grandchildren, Zazhary Lane, Michelle Sharpe, Jennie Sharpe, Paige Radford, Austin Harris, Chris Lane and Thomas Lane; three great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She is also survived by a special friend, Norma Strickland.

We would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Kitty Askins Hospice Center for the love and care it provided for Caryl during her final days. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.
