REBA YOUNG BUTTS

Sept. 4, 1938-July 29, 2017

Reba Young Butts, 78, Goldsboro, went to be with her Lord Saturday, July 29, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center while surrounded by her family.

Reba was born in Wayne County Sept. 4, 1938, to the late Willie C. and Dixie McFatter Young.

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Reba will always be loved by her children.

She will be sorely missed here on earth, but we take solace in the fact that Reba has now rejoined the love of her life, her husband of 56 years, Walter "Bud" Butts.

Reba was a member of her church, United in Christ.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, from 6 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service to celebrate Reba's life at 7 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Ira Williford officiating.

The family will also greet friends Monday evening at the home of Teresa and Ladd Oglesby, 110 Pinewood Drive, Goldsboro.

Interment will be Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Reba is survived by her daughters, Dianne Fields and husband, Ricky, of LaGrange, Teresa Oglesby and husband, Ladd, of Goldsboro and Kay Baker and husband, Ronnie, of Pikeville; her grandchildren, Rene Parks and husband, Chris, Dwayne Minshew and wife, Cassie, Michael Oglesby and wife, Leah, Kelly Oglesby and Travis, Amy Sparks and husband, Jeff, and David Baker and wife, Jennifer; and her great-grandchildren, Dale, Alex and Matthew Parks, Kimberly Sprague and husband, Kyler, Kyia Minshew, Hunter and Addison Smith, Avery Wilson, Cooper James Wilson, Lilly Grace and Madelyn Faith Oglesby, Kayla and Kellen Sparks and Dylan, Haley and Ethan Baker; and was anticipating the birth of her first great-great-grandchild, baby Sprague, who is due in December.

She is also survived by her sisters, Cornelia Moore of Goldsboro and Patsy Evans of Raleigh, and her honorary family, Tyani and Jay Cordiero and their children, Kyle and Cole.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Faye Butts.
