David O. Brogden, 77, resident of the Beautancus community near Mount Olive, passed away Thursday night, July 27, 2017, in a care facility in Hampstead.
Funeral services will be Sunday, July 30, at 3 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Paul Rose, with burial following in Calypso Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home during the hour before the services. At other times, the family will be at the home.
Mr. Brogden was a member of Bear Marsh Baptist Church, and memorial gifts may be made to the church at 1649 Beautancus Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.
Mr. Brogden is survived by his wife of 58 years, Carol Myers Brogden of the home; two daughters, Julie Elizabeth Brogden of Calypso and Kimberly Brogden Lee and husband, Jason Lee, of Faison; four grandchildren, Brandon Nunn, Jason Nunn and wife, Kelsey, Hayden Lee and Justin Lee; and a great-grandson, Bryson Lee Nunn.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul J. Brogden and Nettie Vernon Brogden, along with his two brothers, Carlos Brogden and Gene Brogden.
