James Edward Croom, 64, 703 Lassiter St., died Sunday at SECU Hospice House-Johnston of Smithfield.
Funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Christian Fellowship Center of Snow Hill. Burial will be at Lodge Hall Cemetery of Hookerton.
He was born May 1, 1953, in Greene County to Annabelle Freeman and Clarence Croom.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Brooks Croom, and children.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m., with the family present 6 to 8, at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home and Cremations.
