JASPER C. FOSS

Jasper Clayton "Buddy" Foss, 85, Maysville School Road, Mount Olive, died early Saturday morning while at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Verdie Lee Thigpen; two daughters, Sarah Foss of Mount Olive and Denise F. Sullivan and her husband, Gary, of Mount Olive; three grandchildren, Angela Coley, Robin Goodson and Amber Odom and her husband, Kenny; and six great-grandchildren.
Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Edwin and Sarah Emma Hughes Foss; a stepson, David Lee; and his siblings, Adrian Foss, Buddy Foss, Walter Foss, Blanche Boyer and Edna Smith.
Bobby had been employed with the State Highway Department for several years as a mechanic.
He was also a member at Brock's Chapel Pentecostal Holiness Church of Mount Olive, and took great joy in his riding lawnmower and his scooters.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening, June 27, from the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive at 7 p.m. The Rev. Jeff Justice will officiate the service, with a time for visiting with the family immediately following.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Brock's Chapel Church.
