Herbert Allen Dantzler, 68, resident of the Mount Olive area and formerly of Faison, passed away Friday, June 9, at Kitty Askins Hospice in Goldsboro.
He was a retired mechanic with Chas. F. Cates and Sons, Inc., was a member of Faison Baptist Church, and was the son of the late Herbert Hillary Dantzler and Ruth Inez Benson Dantzler.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 12, at 6 p.m. at Faison Baptist Church in Faison, officiated by the Rev. Andy Beard, the Rev. Paul Rose, and the Rev. Ashley Summerlin, and followed by visitation. Burial will be Tuesday, June 13, at 2 p.m. at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, Goldsboro.
Allen is survived by his wife, Clara Taylor Dantzler; two daughters, Mary Brewer with husband, John, of Virginia, and Ginger Boyette with husband, Dennis, of Mount Olive; three sons, Roger Stocks with wife, Berlinda, of Kinston, Jason Dantzler of Calypso, and Randy Baines with wife, Tina, of Faison; two sisters, Jean Autry of Autryville, and Virginia Goodman of Calypso; 11 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
