Edna Gray Bass Rogers, 86, peacefully passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Edna was born Feb. 5, 1931, in Johnston County to the late James Orlando Bass and Clyde Hayes Bass.

For many years, she owned and operated an antique store and flea market in downtown Goldsboro.

Her warmth, generosity and kind spirit were well known and cherished by those she encountered throughout her life.

Edna was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church, and will be remembered for her love of animals.

A service to celebrate Edna's life will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Dr. Robert F. Bardin officiating. A private interment for the family will follow.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 30, 2017, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.

Edna is survived by her daughters, Andrea Bone and husband, Michael, of Goldsboro, Laura Lieberman of Goldsboro and Georgia Dees of Goldsboro; stepdaughter, Deborah Rogers Covill and husband, Mark, of Denver, Colo.; and two grandchildren, Caroline Bone and Charlie Dees.

Flowers are welcome or contributions can be given to Wayne County Animal Advocates or the Wayne County Humane Society, P. O. Box 821, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
