Ben Lewis Jordan, 75, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center with his wife by his side.

Ben was born in Wayne County on June 6, 1941, to the late Leslie and Nettie Pittman Jordan. He had retired from Goldsboro Milling Company. Ben loved the community of Rosewood and had attended Rosewood First Baptist Church. He had a great love for music and sang with the Green Leaf Trio for several years.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, Dec. 28, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Rosewood First Baptist Church followed by a service in the sanctuary at 3 p.m. with Dr. Michael Collier officiating. Interment will conclude the service at the White Oak Presbyterian Church Cemetery. At other times, the family will be at their home in Rosewood.

Ben is survived by his wife, Betty Radford Jordan; son, Phillip Jordan and wife, Melissa; grandchildren, Emily Burke and Rachel Jordan; great-granddaughter, Rayleigh Burke; brother, Ray Jordan and wife, Cleo; and sisters, Delores Smith and Barbara Jordan. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Mike Hollowell, Carla Massengill and husband, Mike, and Amy Hartley; step-grandchildren, Daniel, Connor, Stalen, Veronica and Joshua; and special friends, Wiley and Jay Price, and Nancy Carol Mayo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Ollie, Kitty, Earlene, Shirley and Carol, and brother, Bobby.
