Juanita Sherard Jacobs, 83, of 1805 Richards St., succumbed to her Lord’s call from labor to reward Saturday at the Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was born Thursday, May 11, 1933, in Wayne County to Calvin and Pauline Coor Sherard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in the silent halls of death by her husband, James Jacobs and daughter, Barbara Gaynelle Jacobs.

Her life and service to God and mankind will be celebrated Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Goldsboro Raleigh Assembly. Her mortal frame will be laid to rest at the Elmwood Cemetery.

In mourning, she leaves her devoted children, Gary Jacobs of Upper Marlboro, Md., James (Tony) Jacobs of the home, Elaine Royal and husband, Quency of Goldsboro, Anita Jacobs-Sturgis and husband, Linwood of Hampton, Va.; nine grandchildren and a host of other dear relatives and friends.

Visitation, with the family present to receive friends, will be held today from 6 until 8 p.m. at the New Greenleaf Church of Christ. At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, where they will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.

Arrangements are by the Haskins Funeral Home.
