RYAN NEWSOME

Christopher Ryan Newsome, 40, Goldsboro, passed away early Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Ryan was born in Wayne County May 17, 1976, to Prentice Newsome of Goldsboro and the late Lynn Coker Benton.
He always enjoyed the opportunity to go the North Carolina coast, where he could be with family and friends, and where enjoyed to go fishing.
Ryan will also be remembered for his love of movies and books.
The family will gather Monday, Nov. 14, 2016, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the fellowship hall of Coker Memorial Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church, 2643 N. Beston Road, LaGrange, N.C., for a time of visitation and remembrance. At other times, the family will be at the home of Rhonda and Mark Webb, 1108 Evergreen Ave., Goldsboro.
In addition to his father, Ryan is survived by his very special stepdad, Alan Benton (Lynn Holloman); sisters, Lyndsey Benton Bass (Roby) and Alex Benton (Bryan Leonard); brother, Tyler Benton; grandparents, Jean Matthews Bunn (Roney); aunts, Sylvia Coker Smith and Rhonda Coker Webb (Mark); and cousins, Lisa Cruse Dixon (Darin), Michael Cruse (Kali) and Karrie King Bond (Brett).
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his grandfather, Bill Coker.
The family would like to acknowledge the wonderful staff at Community Home and Hospice Care for the love and care provided to Ryan, especially Sheree Justus, during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Community Home and Hospice Care, 2402 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
