Rex Franklin Bannister, 81, Kinston, died Wednesday, at the North Carolina State Veterans Home.
Funeral will be Sunday at 2 p.m. at Spilman Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
He was born Dec. 1, 1934, in Belton, S.C., to the late Ben Bannister and Ellen Hand Bannister.
He is survived by his wife, Jeannie Evans Bannister, and five children.
Visitation will be Saturday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Spilman Memorial Baptist Church, and at other times, at the home.
Arrangements are by Rouse Funeral Home of LaGrange.
