EUNICE DEAN TURLINGTON

Monday morning, Aug. 22, 2016, Eunice Dean Turlington, 98, Goldsboro, formerly of Fort Payne, Ala., moved to her heavenly home.

Eunice was a godly woman, who loved the Lord and her family, and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives.

Eunice was born in Fort Payne, Ala., Jan. 5, 1918, to the late Lorenzo and Myrtle Dean. She was married to the late Joseph Allen Turlington.

For many years, Eunice worked as a hairdresser in Alabama.

She later moved to Goldsboro to be near family, and became a member of Falling Creek Baptist Church.

Eunice was a beautiful person whose loving spirit and ever present smile radiated the joy she experienced in living every day of her life.

A graveside service celebrating Eunice's life will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, 2016, at Wesley Chapel Church Cemetery in Fort Payne, Ala.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service.

Eunice is survived by her children, Jerry Allen Turlington of Fort Payne, Ala., Lloyd Howard Turlington and wife, Mary Ann, of Pikeville, Gwen Barber and husband, Jimmy, of Goldsboro and Jackie Turlington and wife, Billie, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Jimmy Turlington (Glenda), Brad Turlington, David Turlington, Deane Markle (Bill), Jimmy Barber (Tracy), Wendy Jones (Steve), Heath Barber (Rishelle), Russ Turlington, Julianna Turlington, Jeri Lynn Coker and Valerie Howell (Michael); and 11 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Dickie Turlington.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in memory of Eunice to Alzheimer's North Carolina Inc., 1305 Navaho Drive, Suite 101, Raleigh, N.C., 27609.
