Sam "Beaver" Jones, 70, 101 Kornegay Drive, Dudley, died Wednesday in Wayne Memorial Hospital.
He was born Monday, March 19, 1946, in Wayne County to Johnny and Minnie Odell Kornegay Jones.
Funeral services will held Tuesday at noon in James T. Haskins Memorial Chapel of Haskins Funeral Home. His mortal frame will be laid to rest with military honors in Wayne Memorial Park.
Precious memories are cherished by his wife, Beulah "Sugar Lump" Raiford Jones of the home; his children, Sherrie Raiford and Kevin Raiford; granddaughter, Sh'Villa Raiford all of Dudley; his siblings, Julia F. Thompson and Mary F. Smith both of Maryland, Yolanda Jones of Goldsboro and Larry Jones of Greensboro; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
Visitation Monday from 2 to 7 p.m., with the family present to receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at Haskins Funeral Home. At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, where it will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
