GLADYS ADAMS JACKSON

Gladys Adams Jackson, Goldsboro, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at Goldsboro Assisted Living surrounded by her family.

Gladys was born in Wayne County Nov. 15, 1914, to the late William J. Adams and Carrie Millard Adams. She was married to the late William A. Jackson Sr.

Gladys had worked with Bynum Interiors in Kinston, as plant manager of Yarborough Sixty Minute Cleaners in Charlotte and with Cherry Hospital.

She enjoyed reading and fishing, as well as playing games and puzzles with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Gladys was a member of New Life Baptist Church, where she cherished her time of worship and her many friends.

She leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and support for the people she cared about. Gladys' enthusiasm and charm will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A service celebrating Gladys' life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5, 2016, in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with pastor Rick Mondell officiating.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Interment will conclude the service in Wayne Memorial Park.

Gladys is survived by her daughter, Jackie Yarborough and husband, Jerry, of Chapin, S.C.; sons, William A. Jackson Jr. and wife, LaRose, of Mount Olive and Jeffrey A. Jackson and wife, Annette, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Allen Jackson, Jason Jackson, Terry Lewis, Regina Herring, Hope Pawvlok, Gabrielle Farris, Ernie Yarborough, Jennifer Tallarico and Jeffrey A. Jackson Jr.; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Polly Warring and Maryette Farris; grandson, Joseph Farris; sisters, Alma Heath and Emma Anderson; and brothers, Fred Adams, Earl Adams and James Adams.

Gladys' family would like to acknowledge the staff of Community Hospice, as well as her special friend and caregiver, Ruby Davis, who had a profound impact on the quality of Gladys' life in recent years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gladys' memory to New Life Baptist Church, 800 S. Harding Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, or Community Home Care and Hospice, 2309 Wayne Memorial Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
