SHIRLEY KIRBY GARDNER

Shirley Kirby Gardner, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at Wilson Medical Center in Wilson.

Shirley was born in Wilson County to the late Walter C. Kirby and Lennie Simpson Kirby. She was married to the late Charles William Gardner.

Shirley was a longtime member of Old Beulah Primitive Baptist Church in Wilson. She was devoted to her church, and was involved in many activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.

Shirley was employed for more than 30 years at Sears, where she had worked in sales and service.

Above all, she loved spending time with her family and friends.

A service celebrating Shirley's life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at the graveside in Wayne Memorial Park.

Shirley is survived by her sister, Janet K. Lamm of Lucama; brothers, Leatrice Kirby of Lucama and Jackie W. Kirby of Lucama; and a special nephew, James Aloi.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Gene Kirby, and sister, June K. Jones.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given to the Old Beulah Primitive Baptist Church.
