BETTY JANE HARRIS

Betty Jane Harris, 91, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Betty was born in Russell County, Ala., April 14, 1925, to the late Johnnie and Sarah Brown Harris. She was married to the late Jacob A. Harris.
Betty had been a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church in Goldsboro since 1966. She was devoted to her church, taught Sunday school, sang in the choir and was involved in many activities where she utilized her gifts and abilities to share the love of God.
Betty leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and support for the people she cared about. Her beautiful warm smile will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A service celebrating Betty's life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2016, at St. Luke United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rufus Butner officiating.
The family will greet friends in the fellowship hall immediately following the service.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Sandra Diane Harris of Goldsboro and Robin Melody Harris of Asheville.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Harris and Pete Harris.
