CHRISTINE W. BURROUGHS

Christine West Burroughs, 80, of Mount Olive, passed away Sunday morning, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. She was the daughter of the late Auburn W. and Laura R. West, and was the wife of the late James D. Burroughs. Christine was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church and was formerly employed with Burlington Industries.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1 p.m. at Emmaus Baptist Church with the Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Committal services will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening from 7-9 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times at the home of Susan Sutton.
Mrs. Burroughs is survived by a daughter, Susan Sutton and husband, Randy of LaGrange; sons, Gary Burroughs and wife, Doris of Mount Olive and Mark Burroughs and wife, Joye of Morganton; a brother, Marion West of Raleigh; grandchildren, Susan Sawyer and husband, Tom of Mount Holly, Sarah Avery and husband, Waightstill of Kernersville, Joseph Burroughs and wife, Cori of Sims, Jason Sutton and wife, Michelle of Raleigh; and great-grandchildren, Ben and Zoye Sawyer, Isaac and Olivia Avery, and Owen and Everett Burroughs.
A brother, C.W. West, preceded Christine in death.
