Mother Georgie Lena Simmons, 98, Goldsboro, succumbed to her Lords' call to rest Sunday in Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
She was born Aug. 22, 1917, in Wayne County to Aubrey Jones Sr. and Hermie Davis Jones.
The homegoing service will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at Deeper Life Church Ministries. Her mortal frame will be laid to rest in First Congregational Church Cemetery.
Precious memories are cherished by her sons, apostle Norbert Simmons and wife, Gwen, and Pernell Simmons and wife, Kathleen; 10 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. The family will assemble at the funeral home in preparation for the funeral service.
