Joyce "Joy" Marie Johnson Stevenson, 67, 212 Sasser Drive, Goldsboro, died Saturday, Jan. 30, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 26, 1948, and was the daughter of the late Broughton Lee and Florence Marie Bender Johnson.
The funeral service will be conducted noon Thursday, Feb. 4, at Grace Baptist Church in Princeton. The Rev. Stuart Coffman and the Rev. Eugene Worley will be officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Tyrell "Terry" B. Stevenson; daughter, Theresa C. Weeks of Mount Olive; stepmother, Josephine Bowden Johnson; sister, Gloria Johnson Bowden and husband, Don, of Lexington, S.C.; brother, Rob Johnson of Raleigh; half-brothers, Marvin Johnson and wife, Dora, of Erwin and Arvin Johnson and wife, Edith, of Erwin; three stepbrothers; grandchildren, Joshua Womack, Joey Womack and Heather Womack; a niece, Carrie Bowden; and a nephew, Billy Bowden.
The family will be receiving friends beginning 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Feb. 4, at Grace Baptist Church.
Although flowers are welcome, the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church, Princeton, N.C., or Wayne County Animal Advocates Foundation, 3230 N.C. 111 North, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
