June Garris Tyndall, 79, Goldsboro, passed away Sunday, Jan. 31, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
June was born in Wayne County, N.C., Nov. 21, 1936, to the late Carl Garris and Della Stowe Garris.
She was a graduate of New Hope High School, and has many lifelong friends from her 1955 graduating class.
June worked as bookkeeper for the family trucking business.
She was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church, where she was a faithful member of the Fidelis Sunday school class. She also served on the sanctuary committee.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be greatly missed.
The family will greet friends Wednesday from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service at 11 a.m. in the chapel. The Rev. Robert Fulkerson will officiate. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in LaGrange.
June is survived by her husband of 53 years, Sherwood Keith Tyndall; daughters, Ramona Holdstock and husband, David, of Raleigh and Sheryl Powell and husband, Philip, of Youngsville; and her grandchildren, Natalie Holdstock, Amelia Holdstock, Tosh Holdstock, Beatrice Holdstock, Faith Powell and Olivia Powell.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law, Ray Tyndall, and her sister-in-law, Peggy Kennedy.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Madison Avenue Baptist Church, 300 S. Madison Ave., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
