Mrs. Evangeline Parks Core, 72, Goldsboro, N.C., entered into eternal rest Friday, Jan. 15, 2016.
Mrs. Core was born Oct. 27, 1943, to the late Esther and Willie Parks.
She was reared in Lenoir County, N.C., and attended schools in Lenoir and Wayne counties.
Serving God daily was her joy.
Mrs. Core is survived by her husband, James Core Sr.; four daughters, Vanessa Holder, Anna Core, Michelle Mills and Pamela Core; two sons, Chief Master Sgt. James Core Jr. and Melvin Core; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, at 1 p.m. at St. Delight Holy Church in Parkstown, N.C. Words of comfort will be spoken by Dr. Devin C. Pickett Sr. Interment will follow at Old Mill Cemetery, Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, N.C.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, from 4 to 6 p.m., the family will be present from 5 to 6 p.m.
