Minnie Catherine James Stanley Moore, 78, resident of the Seven Springs area, passed away Sunday morning, Jan. 17, at Wayne Hospital.

Her life will be remembered in a service Saturday, Jan. 23, at 2 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, officiated by the Rev. Johnny Moore, and followed by interment in Pineview Cemetery.

Visitation will be at the funeral home during the hour before the service, and of course, friends and family are welcome to the residence at other times.

A native of West Virginia, she was a retired nurse, having been employed with Dr. Wolfe at Wayne Dermatology, and upon his retirement, she remained on staff with his successors, Dr. Haverkamp and Dr. Jennings, and when Dr. Jennings began Goldsboro Skin Center, she became his employee, and it was from there that she retired.

A part-time clerk, she was at Goldsboro Drug Co. during the early part of her retirement.

She was a member of Walker Memorial United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Moore is survived by a daughter, Catherine "Cathy" Stanley of the home; a son, Charles "Chuck" Stanley of Chester, Va.; two grandchildren, Carrie Chilton and husband, Thomas, of Rocky Mount and Cody Stanley of Chester, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Devin Stanley, Gage Chilton and Collin Stanley; and a brother and sister-in-law, James R. and Helen James of Brentwood, Tenn.

Also surviving are the Moore siblings, Annie M. Williams, Jan M. Raecher, Henry Moore, Sue M. White, Shelton Moore, Kenneth Moore, Thomas Moore, Iris M. Hudson, Johnny Moore, Billy Moore, Dorothy M. Messere, Dixie M. Shiels, Donna M. Kearney, Darryl Moore and Carol M. Gillis, and their families.

Those preceding her in death include her two husbands, Charles Stanley and Clayton Roscoe Moore Jr.; a great-granddaughter, Allie Stanley-Chilton; her parents, Albert Washington James and Mildred Williams James; five brothers, John, Ray, George, Joe and Walter James; her parents-in-law, Clayton R. and Dorothy S. Moore; and a brother-in-law, Horace Moore.

Memorials may be directed to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd St., New York, N.Y., 10016, or another charity relating to kidney disease.
