Dalton Lee Wilson, 80, died Saturday evening at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born on Nov. 20, 1935 in Fulton, Miss., to the late Hershel S. and Ora Williams Wilson and was married to Margene Dulaney Wilson for 57 years.

Mr. Wilson served with the U.S. Army Reserve and retired with the United States Dept. of Agriculture in 1991 as officer in charge, state of Tennessee. A member of Oak Forest Church of Christ, he was currently serving as an elder.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday evening at 3 p.m. at Oak Forest Church of Christ with Lennie Reagan and Robert Goff officiating. Graveside services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service and at other times at the home.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Phil and Tracie Wilson of Pikeville, N.C.; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Andrew Ficklen of Suffolk, Va.; five siblings, Homer and Kay Wilson, John and Emma Wilson, James "Pete" O. Wilson, Eunell and Bobby Hood and Mayola Holley; four grandchildren, Josh & C.J. Wilson, Elena Ficklen, Bradley Wilson and Joseph Ficklen; and many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude for the loving care that Mr. Wilson received from the many nurses on the fourth floor at Wayne Memorial Hospital. They are also grateful for the many prayers, visits and cards from their family and friends throughout his illness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Oak Forest Church of Christ, 2705 N. Park Drive, Goldsboro N.C. 27534.
