RODERIC V. SWEET

Roderic Vincent Sweet, 84, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2015, at his home surrounded by his family.
Rod was born in Chautauqua, N.Y., Aug. 8, 1931, to the late Vincent Sweet and Miriam Bates Sweet.
He served his country in the United States Air Force, and retired from SKF Bearings Co.
As long as his health permitted, Rod was an avid golfer and fisherman.
He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.
A memorial service will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Bill Ordelt officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
Rod is survived by his wife, Barbara Worster Sweet; son, Steven Sweet of Elizabeth City; daughter, Kimberly Sweet and husband, Brian Fischer, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and two grandchildren, Andrew Sweet and Jordan Sweet.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 532 Country Day Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
