Jessie T. Gainey, 80, Melbourne/Palm Bay, Fla., passed away Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2015, at home with her family by her side.
She was born Feb. 2, 1935, in Goldsboro, N.C.
She was preceded in death by her son, Edward "Dirk" Gainey; parents, the late Ed and Ernestine Tyndall; and sister, Dorothy Ellis.
Jessie will always be remembered for her love of reading, sunshine and the beach. Her love of her family, friends and church and Grace Bible Palm Bay were beyond words. She will forever be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Vera Crockett, Rita Porter and Dan Gainey; grandchildren, Shannon Porter, Jessie Vojtecky, William Brown and Dustin Porter; great-grandchildren, Edwin Porter and Reagan Vojtecky; sisters, Francis Stewart, Diane Tyndall and Kaye Henry (John); brother-in-law, B.J. Ellis; and many nieces and nephews.
A family memorial will be scheduled at a later date in Goldsboro, N.C.
