Retired Technical Sgt. Edwin Eugene Williams, 63, Princeton, died Friday at the Veterans Hospital in Durham.
Edwin was born in Paducah, Ky., Nov. 30, 1951, to Ruby Barks Williams and the late Joseph Eugene Williams. He was retired from the United States Air Force, where he received the Congressional Medal of Valor for Operation Constant Guard III.
Following retirement, Edwin built race cars for TRM Performance.
He was trusted and loved by everyone, and truly loved serving his country.
In addition to his mother, Edwin is survived by his wife, Karen Monroe Williams; daughter, Stacy Golub of Gainesville, Ga.; son, Edwin E. Williams II of Princeton; sister, Betty Wilkerson of Granby, Mo.; and his brothers, Jimmy Williams of Apex and Kim Williams of Poplar Bluff, Mo.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn., 38105.
Services will be held at a later date.
