DEWEY LINWOOD ROLLINS

Dewey Linwood Rollins, 92, Goldsboro, went to be with his Lord and savior Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A homegoing service will be held from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.

Mr. Rollins was a native of Wayne County, born Dec. 25, 1922, to the late Ed and Nannie Davis Rollins.

He was a member of Stoney Creek Original Free Will Baptist Church.

He was a farmer in his earlier years, and then worked with Goldsboro city schools for 18 years.

Mr. Rollins was an avid fisherman. He could out-fish any of his buddies on a given day.

He is survived by his son, Jimmy Rollins and wife, Jean, of Goldsboro; daughter, Jodie R. Glosson and husband, Richard Glosson, of Vanceboro; one brother, Milton Jack "Pepper" Rollins and wife, Betty Jean, of Raleigh; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Rollins was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Mae Rollins, and four brothers, James, Marvin, Henry and Frank Rollins.

The family will receive friends other times at the home of his son and daughter-in-law, Jimmy and Jean Rollins, 160 Gurley Ave. in Goldsboro.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
