BARBARA H. HEAD

Barbara Hinnant Head, 83, Goldsboro, passed away early Saturday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Barbara was born in Wayne County June 12, 1932, to the late Leslie Thomas Hinnant and Thelma Elmore Thompson.
She was married to the late James Hubert Head, who preceded her in death Feb. 8, 2008.
Barbara had retired from the state of North Carolina, and was a member of Adamsville Baptist Church.
Barbara leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and support for the people she cared about. Her enthusiasm and charm will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A graveside service celebrating Barbara’s life will be held in the Mausoleum Chapel of Wayne Memorial Park Tuesday, Nov. 17, 2015, at 10 a.m., with pastor Clay Parker officiating.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the chapel.
Barbara is survived by her sons, Bill Head of Baton Rouge, La., and Larry Thomas Head and wife, Mary, of Prattville, Ala., and her grandsons, Randall Head, Siler Head and David Head.
In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her brother, Jerry Hinnant.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given in Barbara’s memory to the American Lung Association, 514 Daniels St., No. 109, Raleigh, N.C., 27605, or the American Cancer Society, 930B Wellness Drive, Greenville, N.C., 27834.
