MARIE S. WELLS

On Friday afternoon, Oct. 23, 2015, Marie Smith Wells, 90, of Goldsboro, moved to her heavenly home while surrounded by her family at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Marie was a godly woman who loved the Lord and her family.

Marie was born in Wayne County on March 22, 1925, to the late Jim and Geneva Tillman Smith.

She was married to the late Earl Reeves and Roy Wells.

Marie retired from food service at O'Berry Center and later worked with K&W Cafeteria in Berkeley Mall.

Her life was filled with humility, kindness and a love for others that she displayed every time she smiled.

She dedicated her life to serving her family unselfishly and to serving her Lord.

She was a member of Adamsville Baptist Church.

Marie was always on call to give an encouraging word or helping hand.

She enjoyed life, especially her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating Marie's life at 11a.m. in the chapel with the Rev. Bobby Heath officiating.

Interment will follow in the Snow Hill Cemetery.

At other times the family will be at the home of her daughter, 113 N. Pointe Drive, Goldsboro.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Daphine Hill and husband, Dennis, of Goldsboro; sister, Ethel Bundy of Grand Rapids, Mich.; five grandchildren, Vanessa Rivenbark and husband, Billy, Wesley Aldridge and fiancée, Joanna, D.R. Hill and wife, Shannon, Michele McGaws and husband, Norm, and Lisa Cantwell; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She is also survived by her special cousins, Kaye Radford and Edith King; and special friends, Linda Persall and Barbara Barden.

Pallbearers serving for Marie's service will be Wesley Aldridge, Billy Rivenbark, D.R. Hill, Bennie Smith, Eddie Smith and Chris Peedin.

In addition to her husbands and parents, Marie was preceded in death by her son, Greg Reeves.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
