MICHAEL DEWAYNE JOHNSON

Michael DeWayne Johnson, 54, died Friday evening after a long battle with cancer at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born in Camp Pendleton, Ocean Side, Calif., he was the son of Patricia Johnson of Goldsboro and the late Franklin D. Johnson and was the husband of Nancy Coker Johnson of Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home Chapel with the family receiving friends following the service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held in Wayne Memorial Park on Wednesday at 11 a.m.

Michael was a long distance truck driver with Prestige Farms, a member of the NRA and attended The First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Goldsboro.

In addition to his mother and wife, Michael is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Elvis and Rebecca Anderson, of Pikeville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Lisa and Junior Lane, of Grantham, and Heather Johnson of Raleigh; brothers, Tim Johnson of Goldsboro and Larry Johnson of Nahunta; and a sister and brother-in-law, Danette and Freddie Narron, of Goldsboro; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
