JOHN HARVEY SUTTON

John Harvey Sutton, age 57, passed away Friday, Oct. 23, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, Goldsboro.

John Harvey was the son of Edith Howell Sutton and the late Craven L. Sutton of Mount Olive.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, Oct. 26, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home.

Services will be officiated by the Rev. Jonathon Altman, assisted by the Rev. Michael Harrell.

The family will receive guests following the ceremony in the parlor of Shumate-Faulk.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday at 11a.m. at Wayne Memorial Cemetery.

John is also survived by a sister and two brothers, Edna S. Tuten and her husband, Stephen Tuten, of Ocean Springs, Miss., Ben Sutton of Goldsboro and Craven L. Sutton Jr. and his wife, Nell, of Raleigh; a nephew, Joseph Tuten and his wife, Rachel, of Ocean Springs; and a niece, Teresa Womack of Raleigh.

John was a lifelong resident of Wayne County and member of Thunder Swamp Church.

He graduated from Southern Wayne High School and attended Mount Olive College.

During his work career, he was a produce manager for three retail companies.

He enjoyed playing trumpet and piano and will be remembered by those who knew him well for his kindness and generosity and for his commitment to faith and family.
