BETTY GWENN JOHNSON TOLER

Betty Gwenn Johnson Toler, 81, of Princeton passed away at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015, at Countryside Village in Pikeville.

Born in Johnston County on Dec. 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Leslie T. and Mildred Jones Johnson of Wilson's Mills.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Delton M. Toler; a brother, Turner Johnson; and sisters, Bernice J. Stephenson and Anna J. Wilson.

A homemaker and cake decorating instructor at Johnston Community College for many years, she was Miss Johnston County of 1949.

Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015, at 2 p.m. in the Princeton Baptist Church on South Pearl Street, Princeton, with the Rev. Dwayne Batten officiating.

Burial will follow in the Princeton Cemetery.

Surviving Mrs. Toler are her daughters, Terri Toler Sutton and Kay Toler Radford (Jeff), all of Princeton, and Dale Toler Mace (Chris) of Buies Creek; grandchildren, Amie Daughtry (Gray) and Angela Jones (Tommy), all of Princeton, and Grant Mace and Clark Mace, both of Buies Creek; great-grandchildren, Spencer Woodard, Averie Daughtry, Jared Jones, Jacob Jones and Ellie Daughtry; a sister, Esther Teeny Pearce of Hillsborough; and a brother-in-law, Bobby Toler (Auline) of Princeton.

Special thanks from our family to the caregivers at Countryside Village in Pikeville and the nurses from Community Home Care and Hospice of Goldsboro.

The family recieved friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015 at Parrish Funeral Home in Selma.

At other times, the family will be at the home of Kay and Jeff Radford, 159 Toler Road, Princeton.
