LOIS B. THORNTON

Lois Ann Beasley Thornton, 66, passed away Monday, Sept. 7, 2015, surrounded by her family at her home near Angier.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Bobby Thornton Sr., of Angier; a sister raised as a daughter, Betty Johnson and her husband, Todd, of Surf City; a son, Bobby Thornton Jr., of Angier; three daughters, Pam Brooks and her husband, Newell, of Clayton, Michell Nichols and her husband, Dustin, of Wilson's Mills, and Nicole Matthis and her husband, Phillip, of Clinton; nine grandchildren, Jessica Thornton, Lance Atkinson, Tyler, Isaac, Addie, Kaitlyn and Molly Ann Nichols, and Brandon and Bobby Matthis; a brother, Larry Beasley of Surf City; and two sisters, Elizabeth "Liz" Bunn and Ellen King, both of Seven Springs; and Lois is also survived by her canine companion, Grace; and several special nieces and nephews including Melinda and Jaymi Chaulk and Glenn Bunn.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jennings Elmer and Carrie Lois Brock Beasley; a brother, Rommie Beasley; and a sister, Nina Grey Key.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Wednesday evening, Sept. 9, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Justin Nichols officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 11454, Alexandria, Va. 22312; or to the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration, Radnor Station Building 2, Suite 320, 290 King of Prussia Road, Radnor, Pa. 19087.
