SHEMIAH DARCEL FOSTER

Shemiah Darcel Foster, 29, departed this walk of life Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2015, at Transitions Life Care of Raleigh after a battle with breast cancer.

A celebration of life service will be held Sunday, Aug. 23, 2015, at 3 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the home of her parents, 105 Earnest Ave. in Goldsboro.

Shemiah was born in Wayne County Nov. 3, 1985, to Herman Moreland Foster III and Deborah Robinson Foster of Goldsboro.

She was a 2004 graduate of Eastern Wayne High School. Shemiah received her bachelor's degree in biology at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

She attended VIBE Church in Garner with pastor Tyrus Hinton.

In addition to her parents, Shemiah leaves to cherish her memories her brother, Damien Akil Foster and wife, Catrina, of Maryland; sister, Felicia Williams and husband, Kenneth, of Raleigh; and her paternal grandmother, Bertha Foster of Goldsboro.

Shemiah was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, H. Moreland Foster Jr.; maternal grandfather, James C. Robinson; maternal stepgrandfather, Charles Mason Sr.; maternal grandmother, Grace Robinson Mason; and special uncle, Anthony Mason.

Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to The Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program (BCCCP Fund) through Cone Health Cancer Center to the Office of Fund Development, 1200 N. Elm St., Greensboro, N.C., 27401.
