Dorothy Marie Barnett, 84, Goldsboro, passed away Friday, Aug. 21, 2015, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Funeral services will be held Monday evening, Aug. 24, 2015, at 7 p.m. from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro, with pastor Bobby Heath officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2015, at 2 p.m. from the Mausoleum Chapel of Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
Mrs. Barnett was born in Johnston County May 21, 1931, to the late Arthur Clarence West Sr. and Eva Marie West.
She was a member of Community Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Wayne Barnett; three sons, Jody Beasley of Goldsboro, Tony Beasley of Goldsboro and Len Beasley and wife, Ellen, of Raleigh; one daughter, Beverly Ann Deans of Goldsboro; two brothers, Arthur West and wife, Carol, of Dudley and Glen West and wife, Donna, of Bunn, N.C.; one sister, Blanche Pope of Four Oaks; two grandchildren, Lynsie Deans King and Stacy Beasley; and four great-grandchildren, Cody, Raven, Madison and Atlas.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Barnett was preceded in death by two sisters, Louise Heister and Linda Smith.
Although flowers are welcome, memorial contributions may be directed to Community Baptist Church, 351 Antioch Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
