CONNIE WALTON SUMMERLIN

Connie Sue Walton Summerlin, 69, Goldsboro, formerly of Atlantic Beach, N.C., passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

Connie was born in Birmingham, Ala., July 21, 1945, to the late John B. and Mary Magelene Fulmer Walton.

She was a former hairdresser, and owned her own cleaning business in Atlantic Beach, N.C., until health issues prevented her from working.

Connie Sue "Nana" was the most loyal wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to everyone. She will be missed by all who were blessed to know her.

The family will receive friends Thursday, May 7, 2015, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating of her life at 3 p.m. in the chapel, with pastor Jackie Elwart officiating.

The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Sherry Vinson at 102 Woodrose Ave., Goldsboro.

Connie is survived by her husband of 52 years, George William Summerlin; daughters, Shannon Summerlin and Cissy Kennedy; sons, Todd Summerlin, Jeff Summerlin and Eddie Summerlin; sisters, Kaye W. Thompson and husband, George, of Goldsboro, N.C., and Kris Walton Hines and husband, Reginald, of Mount Olive; brother, Steve Walton and wife, Terri, of Goldsboro; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Seymour Funeral Home to help with Connie's final wishes.
