Jerry Melton Jr., 47, departed this walk of life Thursday, April 30, 2015, at his home in Pueblo, Colo.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 9, 2015, at noon from the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.
Mr. Melton was born in Wayne County, N.C., Aug. 9, 1967, to Maggie Allen Melton and the late Jerry Lee Melton.
He was a member of New Saints Delight United Holy Church.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. Melton leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Maggie Melton of Mount Olive; one son, Isaiah McDonald of Oklahoma; two brothers, Eduardo Melton and wife, Sharion, of Houston, Texas, and bishop Christopher Melton of Wilmington; one sister, Christine Melton of Willow Springs; and a host of other relatives and close friends.
A viewing will be held Friday evening, May 8, 2015, from 5 to 9 p.m., with the family being present from 7 to 9 p.m., at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends other times at the home of his mother, 144 Flowers Road in Mount Olive.
