LAWRENCE ANTHONY 'TONY' UZZELL

Lawrence Anthony "Tony" Uzzell, 49, 3457 Hope Valley Road, Durham, succumbed to the silent halls of death Monday, April 27, 2015, at his residence.

He was born to Jesse Lee Uzzell and Ernestine Smith Merriweather Uzzell in Hampton, Va., Aug. 7, 1965.

Tony will be funeralized Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at noon at Woods Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, 928 E New Hope Road, Goldsboro. The Rev. Otis Isler will officiate. His mortal frame will be laid to rest in Old Mill Cemetery.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Karon Uzzell-Baggett and husband, Ronald, of Nashville, Tenn.; nieces, Kathleen Baggett of Nashville, Tenn., and Christina Forrest and husband, Charles, of Eglin Air Force Base; nephews, Capt. Brian Baggett and wife, Alita, and Specialist Adam Baggett of Germany; aunts, Annie Croom and Melba Smith Uzzell of Goldsboro; uncle, Samuel Merriweather of Goldsboro; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Visitation Monday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Haskins Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.

The family will assemble at 106 Earnest Ave., Goldsboro, in preparation for the funeral procession.

Arrangements are incomplete at Haskins Funeral Home in Goldsboro.
