CHRIS LANE

Oct. 1, 1954-March 17, 2015

Stuart Chris Lane, 60, Pikeville, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2015, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.

Chris was born in Wayne County on Oct. 1, 1954, to the late Carl Lassiter Lane and Ida Boswell Lane, of the Nahunta community.

For many years, Chris worked in concrete in his family business, Chris Lane Concrete.

He later went to work with Excell Linde.

Chris served his country in the United States Army.

Chris had a deep passion for the outdoors and fishing. He was most happy when out on the surf and nothing was more pleasing than the tug of a fish on the line, no matter the size.

He also enjoyed watching sports, especially when it was Carolina playing.

A service celebrating Chris' life will be held on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with the Rev. Greg Moser officiating.

The family will greet friends Thursday immediately following the service.

Interment will be Friday, March 20, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the family plot at the Pike Cemetery.

Chris is survived by his daughter, Heather Brooke Ennis, of Newport; three grandchildren, Cain, Emma and Finn; brother, Sam Lane; sisters, Melody Thomas and Lisa Teachey; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Craig Lane; brother, Jerry Lane; and sister, Carla Sauls.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.
