Freddie Gene Jones, 74, of 117 Misty Lane, Goldsboro, N.C., departed his earthly life on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center, Wilson, N.C.
Freddie was born in Wayne County on Nov.18, 1940, to the late Clara Hall Jones and Sherman Jones.
He received his education in the Wayne County public school system.
Over 40 years ago, Freddie met, dated and married the love of his life, Eva Holmes Jones.
During Freddie's working career, he was employed and retired from United Airlines.
Mr. Jones was recognized around the community for his matching, sharp, neat and beautiful dress outfits.
Funeral service will be conducted on Friday at 11 a.m. at the Saint James Disciples of Christ Church, 514 Memorial Church Road, Fremont, N.C., Elder Arinzor Blue will officiate.
Interment will follow in the Turner Swamp Church Cemetery, 541 Turner Swamp Church Road, Eureka, N.C.
A public viewing will be held on Thursday from 2 to 6 p.m. in the Apostle D. L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C.
Mr. Jones' loving and precious memories will be cherished by his wife of the home, Eva G. Jones; three sons; one daughter; four grandchildren; a sister; two brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; a god-daughter; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
On Friday, the family members and friends will assemble one hour prior, at 9:50 a.m. at Mrs. Eva Jones' residence, 117 Misty Lane, Goldsboro, in preparation for the funeral procession to the church.
Flowers may be sent to McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., beginning on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
