PHIL DEAL

Phillip Lynn Deal, longtime resident of the Mount Olive area, passed away Sunday afternoon, Dec. 21, 2014, at the home of his son in Calypso.
Known by most as simply "Phil"; he was 62 years old. Phil had been employed with Alcan Packing Company, Sonoco and Case Farms.
Phil is survived by four children, Michelle Deal Nuckols and husband, Tim, of Hartsville, S.C., Dawn Deal Sutton and husband, Lloyd, of Sarasota, Fla., Jeffrey Deal of Calypso, and Brad Deal of Mount Olive; his grandchildren, Mandy, Courtney and T. J. Nuckols, Knowlt and Zylea Sutton, Madison, Landon and Adam Deal, and Hannah Angell; his fiance, Gail Evans, of Goldsboro, who provided comfort and end of life care for him; Jo Deal, the mother of his children, Michelle, Brad, and Jeffrey; a special friend of his son Jeffrey, Justin Preston, of Mount Olive; and a nephew, Shane Goodson of Mount Olive.
He was preceded in death by a stillborn daughter, Jessica Lynn Deal; his parents, John Dudley Deal and Evelyn Hill Deal; and a sister, Faye Deal Goodson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday night, Dec. 23 at 7 at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, followed by the visitation.
Interment will be Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.
Friends may also call at the home of his son Jeffrey at 236 E. Church St., Calypso.
