Mamie Odell Brown Exum, 88, 504 Hare Road, Goldsboro, passed from labor to reward Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

She was born Dec. 27, 1925, in Wayne County to the union of James Preston and Lou Pearl Cox Brown. She was the widow of the late Paul Exum Jr.

Her life and service to God and mankind will be celebrated Sunday at 2 p.m. at Atkinson Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Charles Franklin officiating. Her mortal remains will be laid to rest in Old Mill Cemetery.

Beautiful memories are cherished by her children, Melinda Exum Coley (Bill) of Goldsboro, Elvin (Deborah) Exum of Clayton and Linwood Earl Exum of Goldsboro; four grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m., with the family present to greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m., at Haskins Funeral Home. At other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, where it will assemble in preparation for the funeral procession.
