TOMMY ALPHIN

James Thomas "Tommy" Alphin, resident of the Dudley area, died Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2014, at the home of his brother. He was 62 years of age.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents, Yank and Senora Lee Alphin; a sister, Suzanne Alphin Carter; and two brothers, Dennis Wayne Alphin and Roger Dail Alphin.

He is survived by a brother, Tony Alphin of Seven Springs; a sister, Rose Alphin Williams of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews.

Tommy was involved in various occupations during his life, including that of a painter with Red Hill Distributors, sheet metal fabricator with D.M. Price and Sons and working with the carnival in California, but his mainstay was always farming, for he truly enjoyed the outdoors and working the land.

He had been an avid hunter and fisherman.

A service to remember his life will be held Thursday, Dec. 18, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, with the Rev. Larry Williams officiating, and followed by visitation.

At other times, the family will be at the Rose Williams residence.
