JEAN AGNES SWOPE LUTZ

Jean Agnes Swope Lutz, 91, passed away at Willow Creek Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Mrs. Lutz was born in St. Joseph, Mo., Sept. 10, 1923, to the late Edward Joseph and Teresa Cunningham Swope.

She was a member of TOPS and Disabled American Veterans, where she was a past officer.

She is survived by two sons, Thomas James Lutz and wife, Grace, of Goldsboro and Eddie M. Lutz of Goldsboro; three daughters, Shirley Veith and husband, Richard, of Minnesota, Gretchen Clairmont of Florida and Mary Kirby of Goldsboro; her daughter-in-law, Cathy Lutz of Goldsboro; a sister, Teresa Redmond of Missouri; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She loved children, and will be remembered as everyone's "Grandma." She was the widow of retired Air Force Staff Sgt. Thomas M. Lutz, and was predeceased by her son, William "Bill" Lutzl daughter-in-law, Marilyn Lutz; and son-in-law, Al Clairmont.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening, Oct. 23, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro and other times at the home of Eddie Lutz, 315 Windsor Drive in Goldsboro.

Graveside services will be held Friday, Oct. 24, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Princeton.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
