Doris Beatrice Thompson Walston, 80, LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
She was a homemaker, farm worker and member of Lion's Club Camp Dogwood Club for the Blind.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther "Sam" Walston, Sr.; her grandson, Marc Glenn Walston; and several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 19, 2014, from the chapel of Garner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Eureka Cemetery at 4 p.m.
Left to cherish her memory, her daughter, Sarah Walston and fiancé, Norwood Oliver Pate, of Goldsboro; her son, Luther Walston Jr. and wife, Merlina, of Honolulu, Hawaii; her sister, Christene Green of Tennessee; her niece, Hazel Sanders of LaGrange; seven grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
